A small Ukrainian publishing project

Literature should be part of learning Ukrainian.

Teach.me.Ukrainian began with a simple gap: Ukrainian learners had plenty of materials for studying the language, but not enough good literature to read in it.

So we adapt Ukrainian classics for different levels — so readers can meet the stories and their writers now, not “someday”. The collection currently spans A0 to B2.

How texts get adapted

Make it reachable. Keep it real.

01

We choose books for the cultural and historical understanding they can offer international readers — not only because we enjoy them.

02

We look for words that are not appropriate for the target level, as well as obsolete, dialectal, and older forms. Grammar and sentence structure are adjusted too.

03

We keep essential higher-level words when replacing them would change the author’s wording, then explain them in the glossary or notes.

04

An editor reviews the adaptation, improves wording and structure, and adds cultural or historical notes where more context is needed.

05

Finally, text, illustrations, layout, and print production come together in a finished book.

For teachers and groups

Reading works better together.

Our books can support home reading, semester plans, Ukrainian courses, language camps, book clubs, cultural programs, and heritage classes.

We print books on demand for schools, teachers, and groups. If you need multiple copies, share your group, level, and goals so we can help choose the right books.
